Singapore 2025 Diving Competition: China Dominates with Gold and Keeney wins 1m springboard

The diving competition at the World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025 commenced today at the OCBC Aquatic Centre, featuring two titles contested in the mixed 3m & 10m team and the women’s 1m springboard events.

Diving powerhouse China secured gold in the mixed team event with a score of 466.25. With a team that includes stars like CHEN Yiwen, CHEN Yuxi, and CAO Yuan, all of whom hold multiple world and Olympic titles, the strength of the Chinese squad was evident.

Mexico, a consistent competitor on the global stage, claimed silver with a score of 426.30, while Japan achieved an unexpected bronze with a score of 409.65.

In the women’s 1m springboard, Maddison KEENEY (AUS) ensured that the title remained with an Australian by winning gold with a score of 308.00.

She outperformed China’s LI Yajie (CHN), who, at 23 years old and a former world champion in this event, finished in second place with a score of 290.25. Chiara PELLACANI (ITA) put in a commendable effort throughout the day in the pool, ultimately earning a bronze medal with a score of 270.80.

The diving competition will proceed on 27 July with the men’s 1m springboard preliminaries scheduled for 9am local time, followed by the mixed synchronized 10m platform final at 3pm and the men’s 1m springboard final.
